Analysis of the Development Characteristics of Nonwoven Fabrics in China

Nonwoven Fabric

Chinese Nonwoven Fabric industry started late but is developing rapidly. The development process can be divided into two stages. The first stage was from the 1980s to the mid-late 1990s, during which the industry was in its infancy and developed slowly. The second stage was from the mid-late 1990s to the present, during which the industry experienced a boom in development, especially in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Hunan, and other provinces. After years of exploration and development, some Chinese Non Woven fabric enterprises and products have strong international competitiveness.

From the regional perspective, regional development is unbalanced.

The eastern region of China has a strong nonwoven fabric industry, especially in the eastern regions such as Zhejiang and Jiangsu, where the nonwoven fabric industry has developed rapidly with numerous enterprises and a high proportion of total production output. In contrast, the northwestern and northern regions, such as Shanxi and Tianjin, have fewer nonwoven fabric enterprises and slower development. Overall, there is a regional development imbalance.

From the technological perspective, the levels of various production methods vary.

The first generation of nonwoven fabrics (sprayed cotton, needle-punched cotton, hot-rolled fabric, adhesive lining, etc.) and the second generation (Spunbond And Meltblown) have strong production capabilities and mature technologies. However, the third generation of nonwoven fabric technology, such as Spunlace Nonwoven technology, is still being improved, and only a few nonwoven fabric production enterprises have matured technologies. Overall, the technological levels of various nonwoven fabric production methods are uneven.

From the product perspective, the quality need to be improved.

Nonwoven fabrics produced in Europe, America, Japan, and other countries have uniform and soft textures, and high standardization. In comparison, the production lines for hot-air bonding nonwoven fabrics in Chinese enterprises are not perfect, and the quality of products still needs to be further improved compared to those from Europe, America, and Japan.

From the processing capabilities perspective, the overall processing level is relatively weak.

In terms of post-processing capabilities of nonwoven fabrics, there are fewer varieties, and most enterprises only focus on rough processing. In some industrial fields that require nonwoven fabrics, such as the automotive industry, the market still needs further development.
